📄 Privacy Policy – Contact: Phone Dialer
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 26 June 2026
Overview
This Privacy Policy governs the collection, use, and protection of data for the Contact – Phone Dialer application ("the App"). The App operates as a comprehensive Default Phone Handler, Contact Manager, and Default SMS Handler. We prioritize your privacy and aim for maximum transparency regarding how your data is handled, especially given the sensitive nature of communication data.
1. Data Collection and Local Processing
To provide features such as the Default Phone Dialer, Smart Contact Manager, Call Blocker, Integrated Messaging, and Caller Announcer, the App requires specific Android device permissions.
Core communication data—including your Contacts, Call Logs, and SMS/MMS messages—is processed locally on your device. We do not upload, store, or sell your personal communication history to our external servers.
2. Permissions and Their Purposes
The App requests the following sensitive permissions to function strictly as designed:
Default Phone Handler & Call Logs (CALL_PHONE, READ_CALL_LOG, WRITE_CALL_LOG, MANAGE_OWN_CALLS, ANSWER_PHONE_CALLS): Required to initiate, receive, and manage phone calls, populate the recent call history, and operate the after-call summary screen.
Contacts (READ_CONTACTS, WRITE_CONTACTS): Accessed locally to display your phonebook, allow you to edit/merge duplicate contacts, utilize the recycle bin feature, and manage favorite contacts or speed dials.
Default SMS Handler (READ_SMS, WRITE_SMS, RECEIVE_SMS, RECEIVE_MMS, SEND_SMS): Required to provide integrated text messaging capabilities directly from a contact's profile and manage your inbox.
Phone State & Identity (READ_PHONE_STATE, READ_PHONE_NUMBERS): Used to detect incoming calls to trigger the caller ID, flash on call alerts, caller name announcer, and call blocker features.
Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION): Accessed to enable location sharing within the SMS/MMS messaging module and to optimize ad delivery through our third-party ad networks.
Camera & Microphone (CAMERA, RECORD_AUDIO): Required to allow you to capture photos or record audio messages to send as MMS attachments within the messaging module.
Storage (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Used for importing/exporting contact backups (VCF/CSV formats) and saving media attachments from messages.
System Overlays (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW, SYSTEM_OVERLAY_WINDOW): Necessary for displaying the full-screen incoming call UI, after-call summary, and caller ID alerts seamlessly over other apps.
3. Package Queries and Third-Party App Integration
To facilitate the "Integrated Messaging & WhatsApp Chat" features described in our Google Play Store listing, the App queries your device's package manager to verify the installation of specific third-party applications:
WhatsApp (com.whatsapp)
WhatsApp Business (com.whatsapp.w4b)
Gmail (com.google.android.gm)
This allows the App to seamlessly route you to a direct chat or email composition screen without switching between multiple apps. We do not access or collect data from within these third-party applications.
4. Third-Party Services and SDKs
While your core communication data remains entirely local, the App integrates industry-standard third-party Software Development Kits (SDKs) to monitor app stability, deliver push notifications, process Premium (ad-free) in-app purchases, and serve advertisements. These services may collect non-personally identifiable information, app interaction data, and device identifiers (such as the AD_ID):
Analytics & Performance: Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, Remote Config, Cloud Messaging).
Billing: Google Play Billing Library.
Advertising & Mediation: Google AdMob, InMobi, IronSource, Vungle, Meta (Facebook) Audience Network, and Pangle.
Consent Management: Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) for managing GDPR and CCPA ad consent.
These third-party providers maintain their own strict privacy policies governing how they collect and use this anonymous identifier data.
5. Data Security and Retention
Local Storage: Your phonebook, call history, and message data reside exclusively on your device's native databases.
Data Deletion: Because sensitive data is not stored on our external servers, uninstalling the App or clearing its app data from your Android settings will instantly remove its access to your local data.
Backup Features: If you utilize the contact backup/export feature or the recycle bin, these files are stored securely on your local device storage.
6. User Control and Opt-Out
You maintain full control over your privacy:
Permissions: You can revoke any permission (such as Camera, Location, or SMS) at any time through your Android System Settings, though this may disable certain core functionalities of the App.
Personalized Ads: You can manage your ad tracking preferences or opt-out of personalized advertising entirely via the Consent Management platform within the App or through your Android device's Google settings. Purchasing the Premium version removes third-party advertising entirely.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is a general audience utility and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our features, SDK updates, or legal requirements. Any modifications will be indicated by the updated effective date at the top of this document and will be made available through our Google Play Store listing.
9. Contact Information
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our data handling practices, please contact us via the official support channels provided in our Google Play Store listing.
